Glasgow Cosmic have added England's seasoned white-ball opener Jason Roy to their roster for the first edition of the European T20 Premier League. Roy comes in as a direct replacement for New Zealand's Finn Allen, who had earlier been confirmed with the franchise but will now miss the tournament.

Roy said he was thrilled when the captain contacted him to check on his availability, and he quickly agreed to join the team. He is looking forward to being part of what he described as an exciting new journey with Glasgow Cosmic.

Team principal and CEO Rashid Ali Khan hailed Roy as one of the most accomplished players of his generation, citing his proven record on the biggest stages of international cricket and his wealth of big-game experience. Co-owner Tansha Batra also welcomed the signing, saying the franchise is delighted to see a player of Roy's calibre wearing the Cosmic colours.

With Roy on board, Glasgow Cosmic continue to strengthen their squad as they prepare for the much-anticipated debut ETPL season.
