Shah Rukh Khan's Knight Riders Group is reportedly keen to secure a franchise in The Hundred, England's premier domestic competition. According to a BBC report, the group would consider acquiring a substantial share of a team should the tournament decide to expand beyond its current eight-team format. With the Big Bash League also planning to grow, The Hundred may follow a similar path, potentially opening the door for the Knight Riders to enter the English market.

The group had previously shown interest in Trent Rockets, but lost out to Todd Boehly's Cain International, which purchased a 49 percent stake for around Β£40 million. Reports suggest the Knight Riders felt the valuation was slightly excessive. Nottinghamshire retains the majority 51 percent share, and Trent Rockets was considered the least valuable franchise in the competition last season.

If the Knight Riders do secure a team, they would become the fifth IPL-affiliated group in The Hundred. Existing IPL owners include the Super Giants, Mumbai Indians, Sunrisers, and Delhi Capitals' GMR Group, who run four of the eight current sides. An expansion could pave the way for Shah Rukh Khan's group to join that growing list.
