Bangladesh's cricket board says its Instagram profile was breached and is still facing repeated attempts to regain access.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed that its official Instagram account was compromised, with the board using its X handle to alert followers about the breach. According to the BCB, the account was targeted on the night of 1 November, and the social media team has continued to deal with further unauthorised access attempts since then.

The board also revealed that whoever is behind the intrusion has been using the hijacked account to push harmful material at the cricket community, sending out messages containing links to illegal cryptocurrency and betting platforms along with possible phishing traps. These messages have reportedly reached players, board officials and organisations linked to the BCB.

In response, the BCB has issued a public security notice urging everyone to treat anything coming from the Instagram profile with suspicion until the situation is resolved. Recipients have been told not to click on, open or engage with any links sent from the account, to ignore the messages entirely, and never to pass on personal details, passwords or login credentials through them.

The board added that work to recover and secure the account is still under way, and that a fresh update will be posted on its official X account once the profile is back under proper control.
