Shafali Verma has added another entry to her rapidly growing list of records in women's T20 internationals, claiming the mark for the most 50-plus scores in a calendar year. The India opener reached the milestone during the second T20I against Zimbabwe Women in Raipur on Sunday, October 18.

Chasing 103, Shafali went on the attack from the outset, racing to 55 from just 25 deliveries with six fours and four sixes. It was her ninth innings of 50 or more in the format this year, taking her clear of Smriti Mandhana, who had eight such scores in 2024.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a prolific 2026 in the shortest format, and her latest effort helped India secure victory over Zimbabwe. Behind the two India batters on the list sit Mithali Raj, with seven fifties-plus in 2018, and Hong Kong's Natasha Miles, who also has seven in 2026.
