Pragyan Ojha Appointed India's Interim Chief Selector
The former spinner steps in on a temporary basis after Ajit Agarkar declined to extend his tenure.

Pragyan Ojha has been handed the role of interim head of India's selection committee. The former left-arm spinner, now 40, takes over the high-profile post on a temporary footing, according to a report by Kushan Sarkar of the Times of India.
The vacancy arose after Ajit Agarkar declined to continue in the job. The former India fast bowler, who had chaired the panel since July 2023, reportedly chose not to extend his contract following the BCCI's annual general meeting in Mumbai.
All four active selectors are understood to be in Guwahati, the venue for the second ODI between India and the visiting West Indies. Their immediate focus is expected to be the national squad for the Test tour of New Zealand scheduled for next month. Members of the ODI side who are considered red-ball specialists could also begin preparing for the longer format, given the gap in their white-ball commitments.
