Stands and Pavilions Bearing Indian Cricketers' Names
From Tendulkar to Rohit Sharma, Indian venues have immortalised several legends in concrete and steel.

Indian cricket has been shaped by players whose influence goes well beyond numbers. At some of the country's best-known grounds, that influence is now written into the architecture itself, with stands, pavilions and gates carrying the names of celebrated cricketers.
The list is set to grow, as veteran spinner R. Ashwin is in line for a stand named after him at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium. He will join two other Indian greats already honoured there.
At Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium, three prominent names stand out. Sachin Tendulkar has a stand bearing his name, a tribute arranged while he was still playing; he also ended his international career at the ground in 2013. Sunil Gavaskar, the first batter to reach 10,000 Test runs, is remembered through both a stand and a pavilion. Rohit Sharma, a former India captain, also has a stand there, placing him alongside Tendulkar and Gavaskar among Mumbai's honoured figures.
These gestures show how Indian cricket keeps its iconic performers connected to the venues where so much of their story unfolded.
