IPL 2027 Auction Returns Home: Goa to Host December Mini-Auction
After three straight editions in the Gulf, the BCCI is bringing the IPL's player auction back to Indian soil, with Goa confirmed as the venue for December.

The IPL auction is heading back to India. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed on Wednesday evening that Goa will stage the IPL 2027 mini-auction in December, ending a three-year stretch in which the event was held abroad in Dubai, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi.
Saikia, speaking to ANI, said the board had hosted the auction in three foreign cities last year and would now bring it to Goa. His update came shortly after the BCCI's AGM on September 18, and followed earlier comments from IPL chairman Arun Dhumal about the board's wish to hold the auction at home again for the first time since 2023.
The league is entering the final year of its current cycle, and the mini-auction gives franchises their chance to adjust their squads accordingly.
No formal date has been announced by the BCCI or the IPL governing council yet. Reports suggest the auction will take place in the third week of December, most likely on December 15 or 16.
