Cricket Meets World Cup: India-Afghanistan Series Gets FIFA-Grade Tech
The upcoming T20I series in Delhi will be the first bilateral cricket event produced to FIFA World Cup broadcasting standards.

The three-match T20I series between India and Afghanistan, set to be held in India next month, will make history with a unique crossover from football's biggest stage. The Afghanistan cricket team, nominally the host, will play in Delhi, and the production will be elevated to the same level as the recent FIFA World Cup in the United States and Canada.
ITW Universe, the rights holder, announced that the series will be the first bilateral cricket event fully produced to FIFA World Cup host-broadcast standards. The directing team, led by Jamie Oakford—who has covered every World Cup since 2002—will bring cutting-edge technology, including AI-stabilized POV cameras, volumetric free-viewpoint systems, advanced Spidercam, and cine-style storytelling.
The broadcast will also feature Quidich Innovation Labs' Spatio system, which overlays broadcast-grade augmented reality on a stabilized drone feed, along with an ultra-slow-motion camera system. ITW Universe founder Bhairav Shanth said the goal is to give viewers the best seat in the house, echoing the philosophy behind the World Cup's immersive coverage. This innovative approach promises a fresh visual experience for cricket fans.
