For some, however, the tournament proved to be a missed opportunity. South African youngster Lhuan Dre-Pretorius, who represents Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, endured a forgettable campaign with London Spirit. In eight innings, he managed only 190 runs at an average of 23.75—a modest return given his explosive strike rate of 163.79. His failure to convert starts into substantial scores has likely dimmed his chances of being retained by the Royals.

With the IPL mega auction approaching, such performances could lead to shocking releases. Teams are expected to prioritize consistency, and players who faltered on the big stage may find themselves on the chopping block. Dre-Pretorius is just one of several IPL-bound cricketers whose Hundred struggles could prove costly in the coming months.
