He also impressed in the warm-up fixture in Colombo, bowling with pace and intensity, especially with the older ball. Krishna, by contrast, missed the A tour and managed just one wicket in the warm-up game, often struggling with control.

More importantly, Brar's natural style fits the expected conditions. His ability to hit hard lengths at high speed could be valuable as the Kookaburra ball softens quickly. Short-pitched deliveries and reverse swing are likely to play a key role, especially with spin expected to dominate as the match wears on. With spells likely to be brief, the bowler who adapts fastest to the surfaces may hold the edge—and Brar's recent outings suggest he is already in rhythm.
