Fresh from his exploits in IPL 2026 and a stellar T20I debut, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has turned his attention to the longest format. The teenager is currently sweating it out at the Rajasthan Royals Academy in Talegaon, sharpening his red-ball skills under the watchful eye of former India batting coach Vikram Rathour. The 10-day camp is designed to refine his technique and temperament for multi-day cricket.
Sooryavanshi's rapid rise has already seen him named East Zone vice-captain for the upcoming Duleep Trophy, where he will play under Ishan Kishan. After finishing as the leading run-scorer on India's tour of Zimbabwe and winning the Player of the Match award, he now has a chance to prove his mettle in the red-ball arena. The youngster is determined to translate his white-ball success into the Test format, especially with the Indian team scouting for reliable backup openers behind KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
