Rathi Gets Revenge, Dismisses Rana in DPL Clash
A year after their heated encounter, Rathi finally got the better of his rival in the Delhi Premier League.

The Delhi Premier League 2026 has already delivered a gripping storyline as Purani Dilli 6 and West Delhi Lions met in the tournament's sixth match on August 3. The encounter reignited an old rivalry between Digvesh Singh Rathi and Nitish Rana, who had a fiery altercation during the 2025 Eliminator. That day, Rana had the last laugh, smashing Rathi after a tense on-field spat.
This time, however, the tables were turned. Rathi dismissed Rana for just three runs off four balls, trapping him LBW with a 91.7 kmph delivery. Rana attempted a reverse sweep but missed, and after a review, ball-tracking confirmed the dismissal. Known for his notebook celebration, Rathi stayed unusually composed, letting his bowling do the talking.
West Delhi Lions managed only 180 runs, which proved insufficient as Purani Dilli 6 chased down the target in 17.5 overs, thanks to contributions from Dev Lakra, Anuj Rawat, and Lalit Yadav. The victory and personal redemption made it a memorable night for Rathi and his team.
