Fleming Named England Test Coach, Will Miss Pakistan Series
Former New Zealand captain set to take charge from South Africa Test in December, with Marcus Trescothick leading against Pakistan.
England have officially appointed Stephen Fleming as their new Test head coach, succeeding Brendon McCullum. However, the former New Zealand captain will not be on the sidelines for the upcoming three-match series against Pakistan.
The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that Marcus Trescothick will serve as interim head coach for the Pakistan Tests, starting August 19 at Headingley. Fleming is taking a short break after his departure from Chennai Super Kings and will join the setup later this summer.
Fleming has signed a four-year contract with the ECB, extending until September 2030. He is expected to officially begin his tenure during England's one-off Test against South Africa, which begins on December 17.
