Coach Pravanjan Mullick dismissed concerns about burdening the youngster, emphasizing that the role will aid his growth.
Mullick explained that Kishan, as a wicketkeeper, will be heavily involved on the field, reducing on-field captaincy pressure on Sooryavanshi. He noted that Sooryavanshi has previously held leadership roles for Bihar, making this a natural progression. "Giving him more responsibility will help him mature further," Mullick told Cricbuzz, adding that the move aims to groom him as a future India captain.
