Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Follow CSK’s Early IPL 2027 Prep Plan
Three franchises are launching fitness camps months ahead of the next season to gain an early advantage.

Although the IPL 2026 season concluded just two months ago, several franchises are already turning their attention to the 2027 edition. Chennai Super Kings initiated early preparations by organizing a fitness camp for their players. Now, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are adopting a similar approach under the same initiative.
According to reports, Delhi Capitals and SRH will conduct their training camps in early August, while CSK has given its players flexible three-day slots. These camps aim to evaluate player fitness, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen team cohesion. The early start gives these franchises an edge in planning for retentions, releases, and potential trades ahead of the next season.
CSK’s camp is expected to include only Indian domestic and international stars, with no overseas players likely to attend. However, it remains unclear whether legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni will participate. Notably, CSK have not reached the playoffs since winning the title in 2023, making these preparations crucial for their return to form.
