Assam's Subhadeep Ghosh Replaces T Dilip as India Fielding Coach
The BCCI has appointed Subhadeep Ghosh as the new fielding coach for the Indian men's cricket team, succeeding T Dilip ahead of the Sri Lanka series.
Subhadeep Ghosh, a former domestic cricketer from Assam, has been named India's new fielding coach, replacing T Dilip, whose tenure ended after the Zimbabwe T20I series. Dilip, who introduced the fielding medal during the 2023 World Cup, served under coaches Rahul Dravid and Gautam Gambhir since 2021.
Ghosh, born in Digboi in 1968, played 17 first-class matches for Assam and Railways, scoring 316 runs and taking 12 catches. His List A career included 307 runs in 17 matches. Transitioning to coaching, he gained experience with IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals, and worked with BCCI on women's tours and U19 assignments.
Known for his work with young talents, Ghosh's appointment comes ahead of the Sri Lanka series. His coaching career has earned respect despite a modest playing record, and he is expected to bring a developmental focus to India's fielding unit.
