Yash Dayal Joins Chhattisgarh After RCB IPL 2026 Snub
The pacer, who last played in the IPL 2025 final, will represent his new state in the upcoming domestic season.
Yash Dayal has switched from Uttar Pradesh to Chhattisgarh for the 2026-27 domestic season, following his exclusion from Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL 2026 plans. The 28-year-old fast bowler has already joined Chhattisgarh's pre-season camp in Alur, Karnataka, and is expected to receive his no-objection certificate shortly.
Dayal has not played competitive cricket since the IPL 2025 final, where he claimed 13 wickets across 15 innings and played a key role in RCB's title victory. Off the field, he has been dealing with personal and legal challenges, including a sexual assault case. RCB director Mo Bobat had earlier stated that it was not in Dayal's or the franchise's best interests to select him for IPL 2026 due to his personal situation.
Before his move, Dayal was retained by the Gorakhpur Lions for the UP T20 League but was eventually left out of the 18-member squad. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association declined to comment on his exclusion. Dayal made his domestic debut for Uttar Pradesh in 2018 and last played for the state in late 2024.
