Kishan and Sooryavanshi's DRS error gifts Bennett a lifeline

Brian Bennett had a stroke of luck during India's second T20I against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. The Zimbabwe batter received two lifelines, first due to a DRS blunder from Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, and then when Tilak Varma dropped a catch at short extra cover.

In the opening over, Mayank Yadav bowled a short-of-length delivery outside off. Bennett attempted a cut but edged the ball, which went past wicketkeeper Kishan. Despite a clear edge, India failed to appeal strongly and missed the review. The replay left Kishan and Sooryavanshi bewildered. Bennett's second chance came in the next over when Yash Thakur's short ball was smashed towards short extra cover, where Tilak Varma failed to hold a difficult catch.

Despite the reprieves, Bennett could not capitalize. In the fourth over, he attempted a reverse scoop off Thakur but only managed a top edge, which Kishan caught easily. Thakur claimed his maiden international wicket, dismissing Bennett for 32 off 19 balls. Notably, Bennett became the third Zimbabwe batter to reach 2,000 T20I runs during this innings.
