Following a much-needed victory over Zimbabwe in the first T20I, the Indian team management launched a novel post-match award to celebrate attitude. The 'Best Attitude of the Match' award was conceived by interim head coach VVS Laxman and the coaching staff, who believe that attitude is as crucial as skill.

Strength and conditioning coach A.I. Harsha named Tilak Varma as the first recipient, praising his consistent positive mindset during the match and in training. Varma received a makeshift medal and expressed gratitude to the trainers, stating that his off-field hard work translates into on-field performance.

The new initiative mirrors the existing 'Fielder of the Match' award introduced last year under former fielding coach T. Dilip, which aimed to elevate fielding standards. The 'Best Attitude' award adds another dimension to the team's culture of recognizing holistic contributions.
