India's Uncapped Bowling Talents for 2027 World Cup

Jasprit Bumrah's recurring injuries have forced the Indian team management to consider grooming uncapped bowlers for the 2027 World Cup. Since the 2023 ODI World Cup, Bumrah has featured in only two ODIs, and his workload will be carefully managed moving forward. This opens the door for young talents to step up in the 50-over format.
One promising candidate is Yash Thakur, a 27-year-old right-arm fast bowler known for his skiddy nature and seam movement. Thakur has impressed in domestic cricket and represented India A in a tri-series against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka A, taking five wickets in three matches. His List A record is strong, with 90 dismissals in 57 matches at an average that highlights his consistency. The BCCI can invest in his development as a potential replacement for Bumrah in ODIs leading up to the 2027 World Cup.
