Pakistan Women's Squad for Sri Lanka Tour Sees Major Overhaul
The PCB's selection committee makes radical changes to both ODI and T20I squads, with captain Fatima Sana leading in ODIs but sitting out T20Is.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced an overhauled women's squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka, which features three ODIs and three T20Is from July 23 to August 4. Under the new PCB management led by Mohsin Naqvi, the selection committee has made sweeping changes to the lineup that recently competed in the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England.
For the ODI series, four players—Diana Baig, Natalia Parvaiz, Aliya Riaz, and Rameen Shamim—have been dropped from the squad that faced Zimbabwe earlier. In their place, Maham Anees, Saira Jabeen, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhter have been called up. Maham Anees receives her maiden international call-up, while Saira Jabeen is in line for her ODI debut. Umm-e-Hani returns to the ODI setup after four months, and Waheeda Akhter could earn her first cap in nearly a year. Captain Fatima Sana will continue to lead the side in the 50-over format.
The T20I squad has seen even more radical changes, with eight new faces included as the team looks ahead to the 2028 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Notably, Fatima Sana will miss the T20I leg of the tour, paving the way for a new skipper to be named. The revamped squad underscores the PCB's intent to rebuild and invest in fresh talent for the shortest format.
