Three DC Stars Badani Could Take to CSK

Hemang Badani is the frontrunner to replace Stephen Fleming as CSK head coach after a disappointing eighth-place finish in IPL 2026. With Sourav Ganguly returning to DC's coaching setup under JSW's new ownership, Badani's move to Chennai could open the door for a player swap.
Axar Patel, who had a quiet two seasons as DC captain with only 436 runs and 16 wickets in 24 matches, may be let go despite his bond with Badani. CSK could offer him a fresh start as a spin-bowling all-rounder.
Ashutosh Sharma, a reliable middle-order batter, could fill CSK's void left by MS Dhoni's aging and Shivam Dube's inconsistency. With DC's deep batting lineup, they might release the uncapped star, giving Badani a chance to bring him to Chennai. T Natarajan, a death-overs specialist, is another target as CSK have struggled since Dwayne Bravo's retirement.
