Top Bazball triumphs: England's fearless Test wins under McCullum
As the Bazball era ends, relive England's most iconic Test victories defined by aggression and fearless batting.

Brendon McCullum's tenure as England's Test coach ends, but his philosophy of aggressive, positive cricket leaves a lasting legacy. Under his guidance alongside captain Ben Stokes, England produced several memorable wins that showcased the 'Bazball' approach.
One of the finest examples came in June 2022 at Trent Bridge against New Zealand. Chasing 299 on the final day, England blasted to victory in just 50 overs, with Jonny Bairstow smashing 136 off 92 balls and Stokes himself making an unbeaten 75. The hosts had earlier conceded a huge first-innings total but refused to settle for a draw.
Another standout was the 2024 Hyderabad Test against India. Despite trailing by 190 runs in the first innings, England never lost belief. Ollie Pope's brilliant 196 on a difficult pitch, aided by debutant spinner Tom Hartley's 7-wicket haul in the second innings, led to a famous 28-run win. These performances encapsulated the fearless cricket that defined the McCullum-Stokes era.
