Jos Buttler has moved past Virat Kohli to become the third-highest run-scorer in T20I cricket. The England captain achieved the feat during the fifth T20I against India, taking his tally to 4,212 runs at an average above 33 and a strike rate over 145.

Buttler now sits behind only Pakistan's Babar Azam (4,596 runs) and India's Rohit Sharma (4,231 runs). Kohli, who had held the third spot, drops to fourth with 4,188 runs. The milestone underscores Buttler's consistency in the format, where he has struck three centuries and 28 half-centuries.

Earlier, Buttler became England's highest T20I run-getter, surpassing Alex Hales. He also holds the record for one of the fastest T20I centuries by an Englishman, a 51-ball ton against India. Additionally, Buttler's overall T20 runs (14,556) place him third on the all-time list, behind Kieron Pollard and Chris Gayle, and just ahead of Alex Hales.
