India head coach Gautam Gambhir was reportedly seen scolding Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during a practice session in Southampton. The 15-year-old has failed to impress in three T20Is against England, managing low scores each time.
According to journalist Ankan Kar, Gambhir had a long animated conversation with Shreyas Iyer and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak before turning his attention to Sooryavanshi. The head coach was visibly disappointed with the team's series defeat and questioned the approach of the players.
Sooryavanshi's dismissals came against English fast bowlers, with two wickets taken by his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer and one by Will Jacks. His inability to handle pace has been a concern, prompting Gambhir's stern words.
