Gambhir Survives BCCI Axe, Who Will Be Next?
India's head coach appears to retain board's support despite five consecutive defeats under new captain Shreyas Iyer.

The BCCI is set to hold a review meeting following India's recent string of losses—five in a row across the Ireland and England series. Despite the team's poor run, head coach Gautam Gambhir seems to have retained the board's backing, according to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia. Saikia stated that the meeting would focus solely on performance and course correction, indicating that Gambhir's position is not under immediate threat.
Gambhir is expected to attend the meeting alongside selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar and other board members. However, T20I captain Shreyas Iyer's attendance is uncertain as he is scheduled to leave for Zimbabwe shortly after the England tour. India will play a three-match T20I series in Zimbabwe under Iyer's leadership. The review comes after India lost both the Ireland series (ending a three-year unbeaten streak) and the England series, raising questions about the team's direction following their T20 World Cup win.
