After India's poor results in the Ireland T20I series and the ongoing England tour, Shreyas Iyer's captaincy is under scrutiny. Reports suggest the BCCI is reviewing team performances, and a change in leadership may be considered if the slump continues.
Ishan Kishan stands out as a potential replacement. He led Jharkhand to their first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy title in 2025-26, scoring 517 runs at a near-200 strike rate. In IPL 2026, he captained Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pat Cummins' absence, winning four of seven matches. His overall captaincy record includes a 79.31% win rate in 29 matches for Jharkhand, with an unbeaten streak in first-class matches.
