ICC Penalty Hurts West Indies' WTC Standings
West Indies were docked two World Test Championship points and fined for a slow over-rate in the second Test against Sri Lanka.

West Indies have been penalized by the International Cricket Council for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second Test against Sri Lanka at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. The hosts fell two overs short of the required rate after accounting for time allowances, leading to sanctions under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Match referee Javagal Srinath imposed a 10% fine on the players' match fees and deducted two points from their World Test Championship tally. Captain Roston Chase accepted the charge and the proposed penalty, confirming the breach. The deduction reduces West Indies' points to 18 and drops their points percentage from 16.67 to 15.
The punishment comes shortly after West Indies secured a rare series win, having drawn the second Test to wrap up a 1-0 victory over Sri Lanka. Despite the positive result, the Caribbean side remains eighth in the nine-team WTC standings, ahead of only the bottom-placed team.
