Tammy Beaumont to Retire After Historic Lord's Test Against India
England's veteran batter calls time on international career following landmark match.
Tammy Beaumont has announced her retirement from international cricket, effective after England's historic one-off Test against India at Lord's. The 35-year-old wicketkeeper-batter will play her final match for England later this week, marking her return to international duty for the first time since the 2025 ICC Women's ODI World Cup in October last year.
Beaumont described the upcoming Test as the perfect occasion to conclude her 17-year England career. "Playing for England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest honor," she said. "This Test match at Lord's – our first ever women's Test at Lord's – feels like the perfect occasion to sign off." She confirmed she will continue playing domestic cricket.
Making her international debut in November 2009, Beaumont became a cornerstone of England Women's batting, scoring over 4,000 runs across formats. Her retirement comes just days before England and India create history at Lord's, the venue hosting its first women's Test.
