Samson Axed as India Name T20 Squad for Zimbabwe Series
Prabhsimran Singh earns maiden call-up after stellar IPL season, replacing the out-of-form Sanju Samson.

The BCCI has announced a 15-member Indian T20 squad for the upcoming three-match series against Zimbabwe, which begins shortly after the conclusion of India's ongoing tour of England. The selection panel has made notable changes, including the omission of opener Sanju Samson.
Taking Samson's place is uncapped Punjab Kings wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh, who impressed during IPL 2026 with 510 runs in 13 innings at an average of 42.50 and a strike rate of 168.87. Samson, in contrast, managed only six runs across three innings on the European tour, leading to his exclusion. Additionally, youngster Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been promoted to the opening slot after replacing Samson in the second T20I against England.
