The post, shared on X, featured a supposed exchange between Sapru and former cricketer Ambati Rayudu, where Sapru allegedly suggested that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi should only emulate Kohli's fitness, not his batting. Sapru took note of the misinformation and responded directly to the fan, writing "Thodi bohot shara" in a tweet to debunk the fake clip.
The false post emerged during the celebrations over Sooryavanshi's international debut for India against England in Manchester. The 15-year-old was dismissed for 14 off 10 balls, but fans were quick to congratulate him. However, some used the occasion to target Kohli, with this particular user linking Sapru to the negative remarks. Sapru's response made it clear that the commentary was entirely made up and that he had not made any such comment.
