Two IPL Sides Likely to Pursue Samit Dravid in 2027 Auction
Samit Dravid's impressive form in the Maharaja Trophy has caught the eye of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals.

Samit Dravid, son of the legendary Rahul Dravid, has been turning heads with his batting in the ongoing Maharaja Trophy. Playing for Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters at number four, he has notched three consecutive scores of 30 or more, all in winning efforts. His knock of 32 off 23 balls against Hubli Tigers featured six crisp boundaries, drawing comparisons to his father and Shubman Gill.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the defending champions, are known for nurturing local talent. They could view Samit as a backup batter, offering him the chance to learn from stars like Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, and Devdutt Padikkal. If signed, the Dravids would become the second father-son duo to represent the same IPL franchise after the Tendulkars.
Rajasthan Royals also have strong ties to the Dravid family. Rahul Dravid previously captained and coached the side. With Yashasvi Jaiswal potentially leaving, a spot in the top order may open up. Rajasthan's connection and Samit's form make them a natural suitor for the young batter.
