Playing for Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters at number four, he has notched three consecutive scores of 30 or more, all in winning efforts. His knock of 32 off 23 balls against Hubli Tigers featured six crisp boundaries, drawing comparisons to his father and Shubman Gill.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the defending champions, are known for nurturing local talent. They could view Samit as a backup batter, offering him the chance to learn from stars like Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Phil Salt, and Devdutt Padikkal.
