After England lost the first Test, Stokes rose to the occasion with a brilliant 176 in the first innings, spending nearly eight hours at the crease. He hit 17 fours and two sixes, anchoring the team to 469. In the second innings, he smashed an unbeaten 78 off 57 balls to set a challenging target.
