India's Abhishek Sharma made history with a blistering 19-ball half-century in the first T20I against Ireland in Belfast. The left-hander smashed seven boundaries and two sixes in India's chase of 183, reaching his fifty in record time. This was his 11th T20I fifty and 13th score of 50 or more in the format.

Sharma's innings marked his fourth T20I half-century scored in fewer than 20 balls, breaking the previous record of three held jointly by New Zealand openers Colin Munro and Finn Allen. The 24-year-old now holds the world record for most fifty-plus scores in under 20 deliveries in T20I cricket, with nearly one-third of his fifties coming at a rapid pace.
