Shah Rukh Khan Drives Hardik Pandya Trade to KKR
Kolkata Knight Riders co-owner Shah Rukh Khan is personally leading efforts to acquire Hardik Pandya, aiming to fill a leadership void after two poor seasons.
The IPL trade window has opened, and Hardik Pandya’s future with Mumbai Indians is in doubt after their disappointing 2026 season. Kolkata Knight Riders have emerged as strong contenders, driven by co-owner Shah Rukh Khan’s personal push to sign the all-rounder.
Khan is reportedly unhappy with KKR’s lack of long-term vision following their 2024 title win. He sees Pandya, a proven leader with IPL and T20 World Cup success, as the ideal captain to revive the franchise. KKR are prepared to offer an all-cash deal, potentially leapfrogging other interested teams like Rajasthan Royals.
However, a reported obstacle is KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar. Pandya is said to prefer not joining the franchise if Nayar remains in his role, which could complicate the trade negotiations.
