India's fast-bowling all-rounder department has taken a hit with injuries to Hardik Pandya and Nitish Kumar Reddy, leaving the team management searching for alternatives ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. While both are recovering, selectors have a few proven options to consider.

Shardul Thakur remains a strong candidate. The 34-year-old has 65 wickets in 47 ODIs and impressed in IPL 2026 with 12 wickets in seven innings. Though his last ODI was in 2023, his utility with bat and ball could bring balance to the side.

Shivam Dube is another option. A regular in T20Is, he has shown all-round potential in the 50-over format, though he is yet to cement his place. With the World Cup on the horizon, both Thakur and Dube could be tested in upcoming series to fill the void left by Pandya and Reddy.
