CSK Retain Stephen Fleming as Head Coach After Disappointing IPL 2026
The franchise will extend Fleming's annual contract for IPL 2027 despite three consecutive playoff misses since 2023.

Stephen Fleming will continue as Chennai Super Kings head coach for IPL 2027, according to a Cricbuzz report, ending speculation about his future after the team's recent struggles. The franchise has decided against any changes in the coaching setup, opting to retain the former New Zealand captain whose contract is renewed yearly.
CSK have failed to qualify for the playoffs in the three editions following their IPL 2023 triumph, prompting calls from some fans for Fleming's removal. However, the management's faith in the 53-year-old remains unshaken given his decorated history with the team.
Fleming has been associated with CSK since the inaugural IPL season in 2008, initially as a player before taking over as head coach in 2009. Under his guidance, the franchise has won five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 trophies, establishing him as one of the league's most successful coaches. He is currently in the USA with CSK's sister franchise Texas Super Kings for MLC 2026.
