The ECB has announced a 17-player England squad for the upcoming five-match T20I home series against India. Harry Brook will continue as captain, having led the side to the semifinals of the 2026 T20 World Cup. The selection committee has handed a maiden call-up to 22-year-old Sussex all-rounder James Coles.

Senior players Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Tom Banton, and Sam Curran have all been retained. Will Jacks, Phil Salt, and Josh Tongue are also included, while Jordan Cox, Sonny Baker, and Saqib Mahmood return after missing the World Cup. Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton miss out due to injuries.

Coles, a right-handed batter and left-arm spinner, has played 71 T20 matches, scoring 1,373 runs at a strike rate of 146.37 and taking 53 wickets. He has experience in the Vitality Blast, The Hundred, and SA20, and will be eager to make an impact on his international debut.
