Cricket Ireland has unveiled a 14-player squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series against India, with Lorcan Tucker taking over as captain following Paul Stirling's resignation. Stirling stepped down after Ireland's early exit from the 2026 T20 World Cup, and Tucker had already led the team in their final group match against Oman.

The squad faces several injury setbacks, with key players like Paul Stirling (calf), Josh Little (stress fracture), Mark Adair (rectus tear), Curtis Campher (hand fracture), Barry McCarthy (ACL tear), and Jordan Neill (shoulder/foot) all unavailable. In their absence, three uncapped players—Matthew Hollard, Jai Moondra, and Reuben Wilson—have been included. The squad also features experienced campaigners such as Ross Adair, George Dockrell, and Harry Tector.

Tucker, who has played 91 T20Is, expressed his pride at being appointed captain. “It’s a great privilege,” he said in a media release, acknowledging the challenge of leading a side against a strong Indian team at home.
