Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Stakes ODI Claim After Tri-Series Heroics
The 15-year-old sensation hinted at readiness for India's 50-over side following a blistering 29-ball 94 in the tri-series final.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi sent a strong message to selectors with a scintillating 29-ball 94 against Sri Lanka A in the tri-series final on June 21. His innings, featuring 10 fours and 8 sixes, powered India A to a dominant win and earned him Player of the Match honors. During the post-match presentation, the 15-year-old hinted at his desire to break into India's ODI setup.
While questioned about adapting to 50-over cricket, Sooryavanshi smiled and stated he has ample experience in the format, contrary to public perception of him as a T20 specialist. His comment came on the heels of his recent T20I selection for India after impressive performances in IPL 2026 with Rajasthan Royals.
The youngster's 50-over credentials are backed by a record of 190 off 84 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last December, followed by a 171 against UAE U19 in the Asia Cup. These numbers strengthen his case as he eyes a spot in India's ODI squad.
