Rohit Sharma achieved a significant milestone during the third ODI against Afghanistan in Chennai on Saturday. The Indian captain scored his 95th half-century or more in ODIs, surpassing Rahul Dravid's 94 and Sourav Ganguly's 93. He now trails only Sachin Tendulkar (145) and Virat Kohli (131) in the list of most fifty-plus scores for India in the format.

Chasing 219, Rohit and Yashasvi Jaiswal put on a 170-run opening stand to lay the foundation for India's victory. Despite a couple of dropped chances, Rohit made the most of his opportunities. At 39 years and 51 days, he also became the oldest Indian cricketer to score a fifty-plus knock in ODIs, overtaking Mohinder Amarnath's record set in 1989.
