Pakistan Stars Who Un-Retired for National Duty
From Imad Wasim to Mohammad Amir, several Pakistan cricketers have reversed their retirement decisions to represent the country again.

Pakistan cricket has seen its fair share of dramatic retirements and subsequent comebacks. In recent years, a handful of prominent players have chosen to withdraw their retirement announcements to serve the national team once more.
All-rounder Imad Wasim reversed his retirement in March 2024, making himself available for the T20I format ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup. Despite being one of the most economical bowlers in the tournament with an economy rate of 4.00, a rib injury limited his impact as Pakistan exited early.
Fast bowler Wahab Riaz came out of international retirement for a brief period in August 2023, though it was largely formal since he hadn't played for Pakistan in over two years. He later made headlines in March 2025 for a one-match un-retirement in a local trial game.
Mohammad Amir, one of Pakistan's finest left-arm pacers, ended his retirement in 2024 to feature in the T20 World Cup. He had stepped away from international cricket in December 2020, citing mental strain, but returned alongside Imad Wasim to bolster the bowling attack.
