Rishabh Pant to Take Pay Cut in Proposed LSG-DC Trade
The wicketkeeper's salary could drop significantly as part of a swap deal involving Kuldeep Yadav.

A major IPL trade is reportedly in the works that would send Rishabh Pant back to Delhi Capitals and Kuldeep Yadav to Lucknow Super Giants. According to multiple reports, the two franchises have agreed on the swap, which awaits BCCI approval. Pant's current ₹27 crore salary with LSG had been a stumbling block, but he has agreed to reduce it to around ₹15 crore to facilitate the move.
Pant's tenure with LSG ended after a disappointing IPL 2026 season where the team finished last. He stepped down as captain and sought an exit. Meanwhile, DC is reportedly considering KL Rahul as their captain for IPL 2027, with Pant expected to play as a specialist batter. If finalized, the trade would mark a homecoming for Pant, who began his IPL career with Delhi in 2016.
