Prince Yadav's No-Ball Denies Maiden ODI Wicket
A front-foot no-ball cost young seamer Prince Yadav his first ODI scalp after he dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Prince Yadav made his ODI debut in the second match between India and Afghanistan, receiving his maiden cap from captain Shubman Gill. India posted a mammoth total, joining South Africa as the teams with the most 400-plus scores in ODI history. Gill introduced Prince in the second over of Afghanistan's chase, where he conceded 18 runs in his first two overs.
Persisting with the young pacer, Gill gave him a third over against in-form opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Prince kept it tight, conceding just three runs off his first four deliveries. On the fifth ball, he bowled a short delivery outside off, inducing Gurbaz to miscue a lofted shot to Arshdeep Singh at mid-on. Prince began celebrating his first ODI wicket, but the umpire called it a no-ball after replays showed his front foot landing on the crease with no part behind the popping crease.
The decision left Prince visibly disappointed, as his maiden wicket slipped away due to a casual error. Gurbaz, meanwhile, was relieved and looked skyward, thanking his luck. He went on to score a blazing century, adding to Prince's frustration.
