Rohit Sharma's participation in the second ODI against Afghanistan seemed in doubt after he suffered an injury scare during the series opener. However, the BCCI's latest training video suggests he is fit and even taking on a new role. The clip shows the veteran batter bowling spin in the nets alongside fellow opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, with the board humorously captioning it "A new spin duo in town."
Rohit, who has taken nine wickets in 40 ODI bowling innings, has not bowled in the format since August 2024 against Sri Lanka. His last wicket came during the 2023 World Cup against the Netherlands. While this may just be a warm-up exercise, it adds a potential option for India as they look to seal the series in Lucknow.
