Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and India A captain Tilak Varma are set to join the senior Indian team in Chennai on June 22, before flying together to Belfast for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland. The two players are currently in Sri Lanka, participating in the ongoing tri-series for India A.

If the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi makes his international debut in either the Ireland or England tour, he will become the youngest Indian cricketer to do so, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar's 37-year-old record. He has been named vice-captain for the senior tours, with Shreyas Iyer leading the side.

Sooryavanshi and Varma were involved in a heated exchange with Sri Lanka A players after a Super Over thriller on Monday, with television footage suggesting the opposition initiated the confrontation. Earlier in the same match, Varma was seen arguing with the umpires.
