IPL 2026 Breakout Ashok Sharma Joins India-A for Sri Lanka Tri-Series
The right-arm pacer replaces the injured Yudhvir Singh in Tilak Varma's side for the ongoing Tri-Nation series.

Ashok Sharma, who impressed for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, has been added to the India-A squad for the Tri-Nation series in Sri Lanka. The young fast bowler steps in as a replacement for Yudhvir Singh, who is sidelined due to an unspecified injury.
Sharma, 23, first entered the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2022 but had to wait four years for his debut. His pace and swing caught the eye of Gujarat Titans, who picked him for INR 90 lakh after a strong Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign. In six IPL games, he claimed six wickets at a strike rate of 21, cementing his reputation as a rising talent.
India-A, led by Tilak Varma, began the series with a win but have since lost two consecutive matches to Afghanistan-A and Sri Lanka-A, putting them on the verge of group-stage elimination. Sharma's inclusion provides a much-needed boost to the bowling attack as the team looks to turn their fortunes around.
